Nowadays, pet is like a part of human, people are treating their pet as one of their family members. Pet will be dressed up nicely and groomed into fancy style. People nowadays just want their pet to be as stylish as themselves!
Grooming is not only for beauty purpose, grooming also makes a very important role to keep your pet clean, comfy and healthy! As for pet lovers, pet grooming has become a trend, or I would say a ‘need”, a lot of pet owner has neither time nor skill to clean and groom their loving pet. Therefore, pet grooming is now having a bigger market and it is still growing! Different from the Europe countries, Malaysia has yet to become a total pet-friendly country; it is obvious that Malaysia pet grooming industry has the potential to grow larger and larger.

What can I learn from a pet grooming course?
Pet Family provides training which stresses on practical hands-on work and speed grooming to train our student to groom productively, speedy yet professional.
All of our instructors are with years of grooming experience. Instructors will guide the student step-by-step through the many styles professional grooming and the art of grooming.
We will provide students with various breeds of dogs for hands-on grooming practice to get the students prepare to be a professional groomer. Salon management and operations are also included in our module. That’s why our students can start their own business almost right after they graduated from our grooming school! In other words, we are able to transform you from zero to a grooming hero in only 3 months time!

How long will it takes to graduate from a pet grooming course?
Certified Professional Grooming Course
Duration: 12 weeks (full-time) & 24 weeks (part-time)
In Pet Family, student will be taught to perfect their grooming skills and concentrate on proper breed profile. In addition, the course also emphasize on first aid for pets, medication, health and nutrition study.
Pet Family also provides in-depth theory classes which will help students to gain some customer management and salon management knowledge. Advanced scissoring techniques will be a bonus course for our students.

How are the fees for grooming lessons like?
The grooming course fees are RM8, 000. All the grooming tools will be given to students for free. No additional fee need to be paid.

What certifications I will gain after graduating from the Grooming Course?
Students graduated from Pet Family will get a local pet grooming certificate issued by Pet Family Grooming School. Besides, Pet Grooming organization from the USA and Singapore will issue a Certificate of Dog Care International Grooming. These certificates are commonly recognized within the pet grooming industry.

How many students will be allocated into a class?
At Pet Family Grooming Academy, we believe that we should always prioritize everyone, either for part time or full time classes, we only allow maximum 6 students in a class to make sure everyone gets enough attention from the instructor.

Is the dog for lesson provided by the academy?
Yes, we believe practice makes perfect! In Pet Family Grooming Academy, we will provide you with everything needed for pet grooming, including a complete set of pet grooming tools and the real pet itself! The most amazing thing is we will provide you A DOG ALL FOR YOURSELF during every grooming lesson. Students in Pet Family never need to share a dog during grooming lesson!

Are there any evening classes available for working class?
We do not conduct any evening classes, but we have weekend classes which are suitable for working class to join. The below is the timetable that you can refer to:
Full Time Course (12 weeks)
Every Tuesday to Friday
Time: 11am to 4pm
Part Time Course (24 weeks)
Every Saturday: 2pm to 7pm
Every Sunday: 11am to 4pm

Other than pet groomer, what are the other job opportunities for pet grooming graduates?
As the Pet Grooming Industry continues to grow, there is a need for well trained professional Pet Groomers through-out the world. A trained groomer can find rewarding and lucrative work in pet shops, veterinary hospitals, animal shelters, grooming salons and kennels. You can even have home grooming service or open your own business.
The number of different employers that need groomers increases your flexibility. You can work one day a week to seven days a week. YOU DECIDE! Both full-time and part-time opportunities exist. This is just the kind of job the new generation like you longing for!
